Scores Trapped In A Petrol Tanker Crash

Lagos — Scores feared trapped after an oil tanker overturned at Obodore area of Lagos State. Those trapped are mainly mothers and their children. They are said to be trapped in their houses closed to the scene of incident. Some courageous residents of the area were said to have erected road blocks to prevent vehicular access to the road. This is to prevent any outbreak of fire. Rescuers from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), policemen, Federal Road Safety Corp ( FRSC), Rapid Response Squad (RRS) and officials of the state fire service have been mobilized to the area.

Unidentified gunmen in Okene Local Government area of Kogi State on Friday evening ambushed men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on duty, killing 3 on the spot. The violence ensued last Friday evening around 8:30 pm when six agents were on duty at one of their post around the main gate of the Federal College of Education (FCE) Okene. An eyewitness account showed that the incident which occurred around 8:30 pm left three officers of the NDLEA dead while three others escaped unhurt. NIMC REVEALS AGE LIMIT FOR NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARD

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has said that minors cannot obtain the National Identification Cards (NIC), until they are 16 years. The Head, Corporate Affairs of the commission, Mr. Loveday Ogbonna, told reporters on Wednesday in Abuja, that they could only be issued with National Identification Number (NIN). Ogbonna said that for any minor to be enrolled, he or she must be accompanied by his or her parent or guardian, who must have obtained NIC. Release Igbo traders detained in your custody –MASSOB to Fayose

The Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has called on Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, to free some Igbo traders unlawfully detained in the State since December 2016. The group made the demand in a statement in Awka, Anambra State capital on Sunday, by MASSOB’s National Director of Information, Samuel Edeson. According to MASSOB, as a friend of Biafra and the masses, it was not expected that the victims would suffer such fate in a state ruled by the governor. They also pointed out that since December 2016, the victims had not been arraigned before any court. MASSOB further gave some of the names of the detainees as David Reuben, Onyemechi Nwanneka, Christopher Godwin, David Chukwu, Sunday Agbo, Sunday Mgbiri, Chisoba Obiekwe and Nwobodo James.
