Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation, on Thursday alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari is using “Fulani herdsmen to wage silent genocidal jihad.” Fani-Kayode made the allegation while noting that 120 innocent persons have been slaughtered by the herdsmen. Rule Of Law: Five Soldiers Bagged Death Sentence For Killing Civilians

The General Court Martial (GOC) sitting in Maiduguri, Borno State has sentenced a soldier serving in Operation LAFIYA DOLE to death for murder. Other soldiers also bagged jail sentences for various offenses ranging from manslaughter to illegal possession of fire arms and ammunition. The soldier, Lance Corporal John Godwin, was charged with murder, which is punishable under Section 106 (a) of Armed Forces Acts (Cap A20), Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (LFN) 2004, for killing five rescued civilians in Yamteke town of Borno State. A 21-year-old woman allegedly shot a man in the back of the head because he performed a sex act wrongly. Fox News reports that Marissa E. Wallen, told police she shot a man twice in the back of the head because he failed to perform a sex act as she expected. The victim, later found by police, was taken to the hospital. But he was unable to speak and communicated with hand signals. Wallen is also accused of robbing the victim. Anambra: 2 Sentenced To Death For Stealing Handbags, Phones

The High Court sitting at Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra state, has sentenced two to death for stealing a lady’s handbag, telephone and other personal items at gunpoint. The presiding judge, Justice Okey Onunkwo, said there was sufficient evidence to convict the duo. The suspects, Anene Maduka, Ikenna Obi and Osadebe Ezeh had on February 2, 2017 allegedly stole a mobile phone, a handbag and N10,000 cash belonging to one Miss Chinonye Ogujiuba of Eziama Uli. The Nokia phone was valued at N15,500, while the handbag was estimated at N2,500. Anene Maduka, charged with the other suspects, was however discharged and acquitted for lack of evidence.
