The leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has challenged the court order proscribing his group and declaring it a terrorist group. In a statement on Friday, Mr. Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, said the motion challenging Wednesday’s court order was filed on Friday. According to the motion, dated September 21, Mr. Ejiofor argued that IPOB is a non-violent organisation; therefore the decision of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court to issue an order, based on a motion made ex-parte, was illegal. Spanish giant, Barcelona Football club on Friday announced the capture of Ousmane Dembele from the German side, Borussia Dortmund. The club in a statement on its website said Dembele signed a five-year deal worth 105 million euros plus add-ons. “Dembele’s capture brings an end to protracted transfer talks by signing a five-year deal with Barcelona worth 105 million euros ($125 million) plus add-ons,” the Spanish giants announced Friday. The leader of the Niger Delta Volunteer Force (NDVF), Chief Asari Dokubo, has said Biafra will be known as United States of Biafra. In a 13-minute clip currently trending on social media, he also revealed that he has been involved in drafting the Biafran constitution. Dokubo stated that the ‘confederating units’ of Biafra may be decided by referendum. According to him, revenue will be divided 70% to the confederating units and 30% to the central Government. He noted that the Biafra government will be in charge of defence, foreign affairs, judiciary and other national issues.

Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, on Tuesday emerged the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the November 18 poll in the state. The governor, who was the sole contestant in the primary, polled 1,070 “yes” votes from a total of 1,092.accredited delegates. Meanwhile, the United Peoples Party, Anambra State chapter, on Tuesday suspended two governorship aspirants in the party, Osita Chidoka and Mr. Chudi Ofodile. Chidoka is a former Minister of Aviation while Ofodile is a former member of the House of Representatives. Also suspended were the National Treasurer of the party, Flint Obiekwe and Nwabueze Anyichie, deputy national secretary. They were suspended for alleged anti-party activities aimed at undermining the authority of the state executive.
The Nigeria Police has invited Aloysius Ikegwuonu aka Bishop over the Ozubulu tragedy. Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in Anambra State, Nkiru Nwode, said yesterday that Bishop, is expected to appear at the police headquarters in Awka on Friday. The police however, clarified that the invitation is not an arrest. Ikegwuonu was the target of attack on St Philip’s Catholic Church, Amakwa Ozubulu, penultimate Sunday. His father was among the 13 people who lost their lives during the attack that left 30 people wounded. Ikegwuonu, who left the state before the attack on the church he built for his community, returned last Saturday.
