The call was made as a result of recent rumours that the governor had promised all the lawmakers in the party automatic tickets as compensation for their efforts to ensure his reelection in November last year. Obiano who spoke through his Senior Special Assistant on Social Media, Mr Ifeanyi Aniagoh said the governor who he described as a democrat would not condescend to hand picking candidates for APGA. Part of the release read, “The publication that Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has promised return tickets for Honourable Members of Anambra State House of Assembly in

My prayer for Nigeria is that President Muhammadu Buhari will not contest another presidential election in 2019. I hope when the time comes, he will do the noblest thing: Thank Nigerians for giving him a chance to serve, allow the transition process to run smoothly without his interference, and walk away with his head high. M That will be the best thing for Nigeria, and one hopes he has enough of the acclaimed Mandela spirit in him to know when to walk away from the gambling table. Nigeria is doing poorly under his watch and we cannot continue this way until 2023. We cannot be munching the same old issues on our weakened gums every election cycle. If Buhari decides to contest in 2019, we will waste about half of the electioneering time on enervating debates about his health; arguing wh...
Immediate past governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, yesterday said that his successor, Willie Obiano, has nothing to show for the mandate he was given by the people of the state and therefore does not deserve to be voted as governor again. Obi, who made it clear that he was no longer on contesting for any elective position again in the state, said he has no personal issue with Obiano yet that the main thing to the Anambra people now was to have a representative who will extend his accomplishments in office by moving from Millennium Developmen
Governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Anambra and CEO of Capital Oil and Gas Ifeanyi Ubah has been suspended by the National Working committee of the party. Similarly, the senator representing Ogun East Senatorial district, Buruju Kashamu has been referred to the party’s disciplinary committee. On Tuesday, Ubah announced his decision to file a suit against the outcome of the governorship primaries that produced Oseloka Obaze as the party’s candidate for the Anambra election slated for November 18. “I will be approaching the court to determine the legality or otherwise of the PDP primary in the state”, Ubah told newsmen. “The election is fraudulent and it is illegal. Oseloka Obaze, a former Secretary to the Anambra State Government, will be contesting the upcoming Anambra governorship elections under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party. This is after he defeated other contestants to win the PDP primary election in the state. Obaze polled 672 Dr. Alex Obiogbolu - 190. CEO of Capital Oil, Dr. Ifeanyi Uba - 94 votes. Two votes were invalid, while a total of 958 delegates were accredited for the poll. A former Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah; and other contestants such as Linda Ikpeazu and John Emeka had, before the commencement of accreditation of delegates, backed out of the exercise. There was a little mild drama after counting of the votes as Mr. Ubah grabbed the microphone and protested the result. According to ...
The senator representing Anambra North in the National Assembly and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in the state, Stella Oduah, has threatened to withdraw from the party’s primaries slated for August 28, 2017. In a press conference in Abuja on Friday, the senator alleged that Wednesday’s ward Congress in the state, was ‘hijacked by governors’. The former Aviation Minister, however, did not name the PDP governors involved. She explained that the result of the congress which produced three delegates per ward, who will then elect the party’s governorship candidate on Monday, August 28, not only lacked transparency but was doctored. She therefore called for review of the delegates list. The governorship aspirant also alleged that those who did not ide
