Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose has raised the alarm that Nigeria was drifting towards a state of anarchy, calling on the international community to intervene and rescue the country from turning to a war zone, where mass killings is a usual occurrence. Aisha Yesufu, co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls, BBOG, advocacy group has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to probe President Muhammadu Buhari over the purchase of some fighter jets. She said the president should be investigated over the withdrawal of $469m for the purchase of the jets. Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, Monday, in Abuja, engaged men and officers of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, to a duel after they stormed the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, demanding the release of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky. News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that the police had on April 16 arrested 115 members of the sect during a violent protest in the territory. A senior security officer who pleaded anonymity because he was not permitted to talk to journalists, said that the sect members had to be forcefully dispersed after all pleas to leave the area fell on deaf ears.
